Premier Estates Charity Fundraising Sucess

Eight members of staff from Macclesfield based Premier Estates have raised over £1,500 for the East Cheshire Hospice by undertaking the gruelling X-runner 10KM extreme obstacle race, which was held on Sunday 23rd September at Wild Park in Brailsford, on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park.

The 10k trail run included the aptly named Swamp of Doom, Water Slides, Tightropes, Tunnels, Quick Sand, Giant Walls, Cargo Nets, Mud, Water and an Assault Course.

The Team, headed up by Gemma Whitworth, was sponsored by friends, family, work colleagues, and customers and suppliers of Premier Estates. A total of £1,522.75 was raised for the East Cheshire Hospice, smashing the original target of £500.

Gemma said “We are so grateful that so many people have given so generously.  Completing this course was no ‘walk in the park’ and the fact we have raised so much for such a worthy cause makes it all worthwhile”

Alongside Gemma; Matthew Tute, Andrew Moores, Craig Staples, Lindsay Barton, Jane Spoors, Emma Church, and Philippa de Freitas all completed the tough course in very respectable times.

Matthew’s efforts were made all the more remarkable by the fact that just two weeks previously he had completed the Paras 10-P Company Challenge, which involved running a 10 mile Parachute Regiment selection course carrying a 35lb rucksack and wearing army boots. He finished the course near the front of the field, raising a significant amount of money for the Downs Syndrome Association.
